Background
PropertyLimBrothers was founded in December 2016 by Melvin Lim and Adrian Lim, former prison officers who became friends and business partners 15 years ago.

 

Initially, PropertyLimBrothers was a traditional realty firm when it came to prospecting for clients and sales. Inspired by the home improvement shows in the US, UK, and Australia hosted in the presenter format, where the host presents the home to viewers, Melvin and Adrian decided to market homes via home tour videos on Youtube. The company’s first presenter-style home tour video was filmed in December 2016. It has since grown into a real estate company with its own in-house creative agency.

 

Before forming PropertyLimBrothers, Melvin and Adrian practiced real estate for ten years using conventional methods. They searched for strategies to stand out at that time, as competition in the real estate market grew. The pair launched their first home tour as PropertyLimBrothers in January 2017 after being inspired by home tour films made by real estate agents abroad and how the immersive viewing experience gave these brokers a competitive edge and broader reach.

 

PropertyLimBrothers leverages technology to generate property sales, such as conducting live home tours on social media for presenting real estate properties. It also uses motion graphics, 3D maps, and analytic tools. In 2021, PropertyLimBrothers videos garnered over 35.9 million views across all social media platforms and generated $674 million worth of property deals. 7 out of 10 buyers of PropertyLimBrothers came from Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, and 3 out of 10 were from property portals. Video Home Tour Content represents 85% of the company’s properties, and its Ad campaigns were sold via Social Media channels.


The company also started practicing screenshot closing and screen capturing WhatsApp conversations with buyers to show the seller offers on the property. It is part of their ongoing efforts to practice #RealEstatewithIntegrity. PropertyLimBrothers has established PLB Assembly, a training platform for realtors, offering skills such as presentation, social media marketing, and lead generation. The company presents a podcast series, Sofa So Good, hosted by real estate consultant and co-founder of PropertyLimBrothers, Melvin Lim.


Social Activities
Since 2021, PropertyLimBrothers and World Vision Singapore have collaborated together to better the lives of the impoverished. World Vision is a non-profit Christian humanitarian organization that works with families, children, and communities all around the world.

 

PropertyLimBrothers traveled to Sambour, Cambodia in 2022 as part of a World Vision Singapore humanitarian relief mission to learn about the living conditions and medical needs of the locals. There, the crew introduced good hygiene practices, clean water, and Procter & Gamble water purifier sachets.
