The Vogue Institute of Art and Design (VIAD), formerly known as Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology, is a premier design school in Bangalore, affiliated to Bengaluru North University. It is running by Manduda Educational Trust, a charitable organization based in Bangalore, Karnataka. VIAD has carved a niche for itself in providing quality education in the fields of art, design, and fashion.

Background
In 1996, Dr. M.M. Kariappa is the one who initiates the establishment of the Vogue Institute of Art & Design. The Manduda Educational Trust, which is a charitable corporation, is the administrative body of the institute. In the year 1999, the institute was the pioneer in the field of fashion design, working in conjunction with Bangalore University to launch a degree program in the field. Not only is the institute associated with Bengaluru North University, but it also holds the ISO 9001:2008 certification. The Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology was the previous name for what is currently known as the Vogue Institute of Art and Design.

In 2018, Vogue expanded its sphere of influence by establishing the Dr. Kariappa School of Art and Design Management, which is accredited by the Association of Indian Colleges of Technology (AICTE). Additionally, the institute offers a variety of MBA programs with distinct tracks. In the same year Vogue also launched Vogue Business School.

Campus
The institute is situated at garment Park, Doddaballapur, Bengaluru. The campus, which spans four acres, is surrounded by more than 190 firms that are involved in the garment and manufacturing industries. There are workstations, an amphitheater, and an auditorium on campus, all of which are meant to facilitate experiential learning. The campus infrastructure also contains labs that are equipped with software and sophisticated equipment.

Vogue Institute of Art and Design is in collaborated with international education institutes such as De Montfort University UK, University of Sunderland UK,[1] and Accademia Del Lusso Italy. The institute provides opportunities to interact with international institutes and its faculty members.

Ranking
According to India Today magazine, Vogue Institute of Art and Design was ranked among the top 10 fashion and design institutes in India in year 2015. According to the list that was compiled by India Today in 2017, the institute was ranked eleventh on the list of the top fifteen colleges or universities in India. According to the list that was compiled by Outlook India in 2019, the institute of higher education was ranked in the 22nd position among the top 25 colleges in India.

BVA - 4 years full time graduation program available in Animation & Multimedia, Textile design. The courses are approved by Bengaluru North University.
Bachelor in Jewellery Design and Management, 3 years full time graduation program, approved by University of Mysore.

The Institute provides 1 Year diploma programs available in Fashion design, Interior design, Jewellery design, Graphic and Web Designing, VFX- PRO, Multimedia, 3D Animation and more.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Participation in social responsibility activities is something that the students do. During the celebration of International Women's Day, the students reached out to the female convicts at the Parapana Agrahara prison and instructed them in the art of knitting and jewelry making. Students discussed creative ways to repair, reuse, and rework one's wardrobe in light of the most recent trend in fashion, which is sustainable fashion. In addition, the students take part in fashion shows such as the Deccan Herald Metrolife Fashion Show in order to exhibit their designs and abilities in choreography.

VIAD boasts a strong placement record, with many graduates securing positions with leading design houses and fashion brands. The institute also offers scholarships to deserving students, making design education accessible to a wider talent pool.

Events
Vogue Mystique Designer Awards
Students of Vogue Institute of Art and Design are given the opportunity to showcase their artistic and creative abilities through participation in cultural events. The institute hosts an annual event known as the Vogue Mystique Designer Awards, which provides students with the opportunity to exhibit their creative abilities in front of famous persons.

Euphoria
Programmes for ethnic day, annual day, and republic day are all events that are organised by the institute on an annual basis.

In 2018, VIAD received India Education Excellence Award, Berkshire Media, USA. In 2019, VIAD honored India’s Most Admirable Brands by NDTV Prime. And in 2014, It was ranked Top 10 Fashion Schools in India, by Outlook Magazine.
