Pakistan security forces have eliminated 22 TTP terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Bannu, just days after a deadly suicide attack targeted the Peshawar Federal Constabulary headquarters.
The operation was launched after intelligence agencies detected the presence of heavily armed TTP militants hiding in the Bannu region. During the intense exchange of fire, security personnel neutralised 22 terrorists linked to recent attacks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A clearance operation is currently underway.
Authorities confirmed that the action was taken in retaliation for the suicide bombing at the FC headquarters in Peshawar, in which multiple officers lost their lives. The TTP-linked attackers attempted to storm the facility, but most were intercepted before causing further damage.
The ISPR stated that Pakistan will continue its counterterrorism efforts under the national security plan “Azm-e-Istehkam,” aimed at eliminating foreign-backed terror networks. Political and military leadership have praised the security forces for a “strong and timely response.”
The incident has once again highlighted the ongoing threat posed by TTP militants in the region, prompting renewed calls for enhanced intelligence coordination and border vi
gilance.
