Who are the candidates of which party and on what issues are the elections being fought on 13 seats?

Misrikh: Rawat Vs Rajvanshi

The BJP has fielded sitting MP Ashok Rawat from Mishrikh constituency. Ashok Rawat contested from Mishrikh parliamentary constituency in 2004 and 2009 on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket and in 2019 on a BJP ticket and reached Parliament. This time he is contesting against BJP's Ravinder Raina and AAP's Ravinder Raina. The election here has been focused on the central government's schemes as well as caste equations.

Hardoi: Will it be Jayaprakash?

The BJP is trying to make a comeback in the seat by fielding Jai Prakash as its candidate. If Jai Prakash wins this time, he will go to Parliament for a record fifth time. Jayaprakash, who was a BJP MP in 1991, 1996 and 2019 and a Loktantrik Congress MP in 1999, is eyeing a record fifth victory. The opposition has put up a strong blockade to block his way. He is pitted against three-time MP Usha Verma of the SP and Bhimrao Ambedkar of the BSP.

Kannauj: Battle between SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and BJP leader Subrat Pathak

The political battle in Kannauj has intensified with the entry of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. Here the direct fight is now between Akhilesh and BJP leader Subrat Pathak, who defeated his wife Dimple Yadav in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The BSP has also prepared the ground for a triangular contest by fielding Imran Bin Zafar.

After campaigning for Mainpuri candidate Dimple Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav reached Kannauj and met local leaders. In view of the possibility of a neck-to-neck fight with Subrat Pathak, the SP has now thrown all its strength.

Dhurahara: Brahmin voters will decide.

The BJP has fielded Rekha Verma, who is the party's national vice-president and co-incharge of Uttarakhand, for the third consecutive time. Former Sitapur MLC Anand Singh Bhadoria, a close aide of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, is also in the fray. The BSP has fielded Shyam Kishore Awasthi, a BJP rebel, from the seat. Caste equations will dominate and Brahmin voters will be decisive.

Unnao: Former SP MP VS Sakshi Maharaj

The BJP has fielded Dr Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi Maharaj for the third time. He has been an MP from here in 2014 and 2019. The SP has fielded former MP Annu Tandon as its candidate. At the same time, the BSP has tried the Brahmin factor with its cadre for the fourth consecutive time with a bet on Ashok Pandey. After the alliance with the Congress, the SP is currently finding itself free from the worry of vote splitting.

After becoming the SP state president from the Pal community, there is a claim among the Pal voters to put themselves in a strong position. Apart from nationalism, Ram temple and government schemes, the candidate's homogeneous vote bank is being claimed to be with the BJP.

Kanpur. Here's an interesting contest.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath campaigned for the BJP. There is a direct fight between BJP candidate Ramesh Awasthi and Congress candidate Alok Mishra. BSP's Kuldeep Singh Bhadoria is also making a presence in many areas. This match is expected to be an interesting one. Congress leaders Salman Khurshid and Pramod Tiwari were also
present on the occasion.

Shahjahanpur. Here the minister and Others are in charge.

The BJP has fielded Arun Sagar, the SP's Jyotsna Gond and the BSP's Dodaram Verma. The BJP won three seats in the last election. The SP has been waiting for victory since 2009. The BJP wants to open its account here.

Shahjahanpur seat is also being associated with the prestige of three ministers of the state. Suresh Kumar Khanna is the Finance Minister of India. Public Works Minister Jitin Prasada and Minister of State for Cooperation JPS Rathore are also from the same district. SP candidate Jyotsna Gond is a native of Hardoi. His uncle Rajpal Kashyap, a former SP MLC, was in charge of the election.

Akbarpur:  There is a direct fight between the BJP and the SP.

There is a direct fight between the BJP and the Congress in Uttar Pradesh. BJP's sitting MP Devendra Singh Bhole is in the fray for the third time, while the SP has reposed faith in former MP Rajaram Pal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath campaigned for the BJP.

He was accompanied by BJP MLA Abhijit Singh Sanga. Rajaram Pal had won from here in 2009 and reached Parliament. BSP's Rajesh Dwivedi is creating a triangular atmosphere.

Bahraich: Gond gets support from Ram temple and Gautam for Congress

The BJP has fielded Anand Gond, son of sitting MP Akshaywar Lal Gond. The SP has fielded former MLA Ramesh Gautam, while the BSP has fielded Birjesh Sonkar. With the work of the Modi government along with the Ram temple, he is maintaining his place in the minds of the people.

The Samajwadi Party hopes to make a dent in the votes of Muslims, Yadavs as well as Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. He is also with the Congress. The BSP's attempt is to make a dent in the votes of the deprived sections and bring Muslims into its fold. However, this effort of the BSP seems to be full of challenges. However, the contest is interesting and the picture will be clear only when the results are out.

Etawah: It's a triangular contest here.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath campaigned for the BJP. People have started debating on the issues which the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister highlighted.

SP's Jitendra Dohare is currently campaigning with the help of local leaders. On the other hand, BSP candidate Sarika Singh Baghel is trying to make the contest triangular with the help of the party's core voters. To stop the BJP's hat-trick, the SP has adopted the formula of PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority). Most of the voters in this constituency belong to the backward classes.

Lakhimpur. Will the Union Minister be able to save the bastion?

There is a direct contest in the Lakhimpur seat. Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni was also present. This time he is contesting for the third time, while on the other hand, SP candidate Utkarsh Verma is contesting. The Samajwadi Party has been trying to regain this seat for the last four elections, while the Bahujan Samaj Party has fielded young candidate Anshay Singh Kalra here.

He is campaigning day and night and claiming to unite the entire society. Here, along with the schemes of the central government, caste equation is also going to be a big factor. While the BJP is confident of its plans, the SP and BSP candidates are also putting in their best efforts.

Farrukhabad: Mukesh Rajput Vs Dr. Nawal Kishore Shakya

In the Farrukhabad parliamentary seat, Brahmins along with Lodhs and Yadavs from the Rajput and OBC communities play a decisive role. Mukesh Rajput is a two-time BJP MP. The Samajwadi Party has fielded Dr Nawal Kishore Shakya as its candidate.

At the same time, the BSP has registered its presence by fielding Kranti Pandey as a Brahmin face, although the party has not yet found its feet in the election atmosphere. This time there is a discussion about the schemes of the central government and Article 370 and the construction of Ram temple. The Samajwadi Party has given the slogan of PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) to deal with theBJP's gamble.

Sitapur: BJP vs Congress

BJP's Rajesh Verma, BSP's Mahendra Singh Yadav and Congress' Rakesh Rathore are in the fray. All three were BJP candidates in the last Lok Sabha elections. Rajesh Verma has been elected to the Lok Sabha four times. He was elected from the BSP in 1999 and 2004 and from the BJP in 2014 and 2019. This time the challenge is to beat them. They have confidence in Modi's guarantee, the traditional votes of the BJP.

Congress candidate Rakesh Rathore is expected to get the SP's Yadav-Muslim votes along with his own caste votes. BSP candidate Mahendra Singh Yadav is hoping to win over the party's vote bank as well as the polarisation of Yadav votes, Muslim and Pasi voters.
