The announcement was made during the 9/11 remembrance at the Pentagon, where Kirk was lauded as a “champion of liberty” and a generational influence. Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. He was best known as co-founder of Turning Point USA, a major conservative youth organisation. His death has sparked a wide outpouring of grief, debate about political violence, and calls for respecting opposing viewpoints.
