According to local authorities, the incident occurred when one of the cabins malfunctioned mid-air, leading to a sudden fall that resulted in the deaths. Rescue operations were immediately launched, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police, and local administration rushing to the spot. Several injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

 

Eyewitnesses reported panic and chaos at the site, with stranded passengers stuck in mid-air cabins waiting to be rescued. While rescue teams managed to bring many to safety, the accident raised major questions on the inspection and maintenance of the ropeway system.

 

Chief Minister of Gujarat expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and announced compensation. The state government has ordered a high-level probe into the matter, ensuring accountability of the operators and contractors involved.
