If selected, Ahmedabad would become the first Indian city to host the prestigious event since Delhi organized the Games in 2010. The recommendation comes after a comprehensive evaluation of the city’s infrastructure, sports facilities, transportation networks, and hospitality readiness.

 

Officials from the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) were reportedly impressed by Ahmedabad’s state-of-the-art Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Complex and its efficient urban development model. India’s strong bid emphasizes sustainability, modern sports technology, and community engagement.

 

The final decision is expected to be announced in November after the CGF Executive Board’s review. If approved, this will place India back on the global sports stage, providing an opportunity to showcase its growing capabilities in hosting mega international events.

 

Experts believe hosting the Commonwealth Games could boost tourism, employment, and the local economy, while also inspiring a new generation of a
