2024 Election Results: Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a five-time Member of Parliament and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, secured a total of 11,16,460 votes, winning his sixth parliamentary election from the Vidisha constituency this year, according to the Election Commission of India. Chouhan's opponent, former Lok Sabha MP and veteran Congress leader Pratap Bhanu Sharma, lost by a margin of 8,21,408 votes. In the same election, a surprising development saw that Indore recorded 218,674 NOTA votes.

In the 2024 Uttar Pradesh elections, the Samajwadi Party emerged victorious, securing 37 seats and surpassing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which won 33 seats. BJP's allies, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Apna Dal (Sonelal) won 2 seats and 1 seat, respectively. Rahul Gandhi secured Rae Bareli with 687,649 votes, while BJP's Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel won in Agra with 599,397 votes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi clinched Varanasi with 612,970 votes. Contrary to BJP's claim of winning all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, the election results in Lucknow revealed a different outcome.
