Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of the Goa nightclub linked to the tragic fire incident, have been detained in Thailand and are being sent back to India to face legal proceedings.
The Luthra brothers had reportedly traveled to Phuket shortly after the fire that resulted in multiple casualties and raised nationwide concerns about safety norms in nightlife establishments. Following an international alert, Thai immigration officials detained the duo for illegal stay after their Indian passports were revoked.
Indian authorities have confirmed that a special police team is coordinating with Thailand for their deportation. Once they reach India, the brothers will undergo questioning related to licensing violations, fire safety negligence, and operational lapses at their nightclub.
