Shots fired outside Disha Patani’s Bareilly home; gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara claim responsibility for the attack.
A shocking incident occurred in the early hours at the Civil Lines area of Bareilly, where gunshots were fired outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s family residence. Present in the house at the time were her father, retired DSP Jagdish Singh Patani; her mother, Padma Patani; and her elder sister, Khushboo Patani. Disha herself was in Mumbai. According to police sources, two individuals on a motorcycle opened fire, discharging multiple rounds before fleeing the scene.
The gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara have publicly claimed responsibility. In a statement on social media, they asserted the attack was retaliation for remarks allegedly made by Khushboo Patani regarding Hindu spiritual figures Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. They described the incident as a “trailer”, warning that next time “no one will be left alive.”
Authorities recovered empty cartridges at the site. The case has been handed over to the crime branch. SSP Anurag Arya confirmed CCTV footage is being reviewed, multiple teams formed to trace the culprits, and security has been enhanced around the Patani residence. The incident raises serious concerns over freedom of speech, celebrity safety, and religious sensitivities in public dialogue.
