WTC25: New Zealand tour confirmed for England; series will begin on November 28

New Zealand, who won the inaugural cycle of the World Test Championship in 2021, are third in the 2023–25 table after taking 50% of the points available during the campaign. The Black Caps beat defending World Test Champions Australia 2-0 in the series after winning the two-match away series and taking maximum points in their home series against South Africa. In addition, men's and women's teams from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, as well as Australia, will tour in the summer of 2024–25. New Zealand's remaining home internationals will be announced at a later date.

England's Test series, which begins in late November, has dates and venues confirmed by New Zealand Cricket. The three Test matches for New Zealand will be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, Basin Reserve in Wellington and Seddon Park in Hamilton. These matches are part of the current 2023–2025 Test World Cup. The early announcement of England's Test tour, according to New Zealand Cricket chief executive Scott Weenink, follows a surge in interest in the long format, which sold out seven of the eight days of the two Tests against Australia earlier this year. "In the past, New Zealand has often talked about the popularity of Test cricket - without it being reflected in ticket sales or viewership numbers," he said.

“The difference with last summer and with the upcoming Tests against England is that the interest is translating into bums in the seats and leading to record attendances.” We're excited for this to continue this coming summer. and also to welcome the England team and their supporters to the Test matches along with all the Kiwi followers."
