Lok Sabha Elections 2024

The BJP government has lost three independent MLAs, making it a minority government.

The political crisis in Haryana continues to stay grim. This time, there were three independent MLAs who were supporting the Nayab Singh Saini government. He has withdrawn his support to Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

The BJP government has lost three independent MLAs, making it a minority government.

In Haryana, a new political climate is developing. On Tuesday, three Independent MLAs who had been backing the chief minister Nayab Singh Saini's government said that they would no longer be supporting the BJP. During the day, there were four MLAs, but by the evening, there were only three.

Independent MLAs extend support to Congress

Independent MLA from Pundri Randhir Golan, independent MLA from Charkhi Dadri Somveer Sangwan and independent MLA from Nilokheri Dharam Pal Gonder reached Rohtak on Tuesday evening and met former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and announced their support to the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. Independent MLA from Badshahpur Rakesh Daulatabad was also claimed to have accompanied these MLAs, but did not come to Daulatabad in the evening.

No formal letter has been sent to the Speaker.

The three independent MLAs not only announced their support to the Congress but also said in Hooda's presence that they have withdrawn their support to the BJP government. However, the three MLAs have not yet given their written letter of withdrawal of support to the BJP government to the Assembly Speaker. However, the announcement has certainly increased the pressure on the government.

The government is in a minority in terms of the number of MLAs

In such a situation, the BJP government in the state has come down to a minority in terms of the number of MLAs, but constitutionally there is no threat to the government for the next four months. The Congress had moved a no-confidence motion against the BJP government on February 22, 2024, when Nayab Singh Saini had become the Chief Minister in place of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal. At that time, the BJP had managed to prove its majority with the help.

Some JJP. MLAs had also extended their support to the BJP government, due to which there was no threat to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's government despite the break-up of the BJP-JJP alliance. Constitutionally, no no-confidence motion can be moved against the Nayab Singh Saini government for the next six months from February 22.

President's rule should be imposed: Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Congress state president Udaybhan said that the leaders want to go with power but the independent MLAs are coming with the Congress. This proves that Congress is going to form the government in the country and the state. People have lost faith in the BJP. The MLAs have taken the right decision at the right time. The decision has been taken in the interest of the people. "Bhupinder Singh Hooda said," "There is a minority government and President's rule should be imposed." There is no threat to the Saini government till August 22. Since the assembly elections in Haryana are due in September-October, the government is likely to announce the dissolution of the assembly in August.

If the BJP strategists do not dissolve the assembly and the Congress brings some kind of no-confidence motion against the government, five of the 10 disgruntled JJP MLAs are with the BJP and two are in love with the Congress. In this case, 88 The BJP has 45 MLAs in the Assembly.

With the withdrawal of support by three independents, the BJP is left with 40 MLAs, two independents Nayanpal Rawat and Rakesh Daulatabad and one Halpa MLA Gopal Kanda, two short of the majority mark. Independent MLA from Meham Balraj Kundu has been running against the government from day one. Balraj Kundu, who has formed his own party, was recently seen on the stage of INLD's principal general secretary Abhay Singh Chautala.

Speaker has to give letter of withdrawal of support

In the 90-member Haryana Assembly, Independent MLA from Rania, Ranjit Chautala, and BJP MLA from Karnal, Manohar Lal, have resigned from the membership of the Assembly. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is contesting from Karnal and his son Ranjit Chautala is contesting from Hisar. In the 88-member Assembly, the BJP needs 45 seats to form the government. The three independent MLAs who have announced their withdrawal of support to the government have not yet written to the assembly speaker. In the next few days, he is expected to submit a letter to the Speaker withdrawing his support to the BJP in writing.

Three of the JJP's six MLAs are with the BJP.

Of the 10 JJP MLAs in the Haryana Assembly, six are dissidents and rebels. Barring former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, former state minister Anup Dhanak, Barhada MLA Naina Chautala and Julana MLA Amarjeet Dhanda, the remaining six MLAs are not with the JJP. Among the disgruntled and rebel MLAs, former panchayat minister Devendra Babli is yet to decide whether he will go with the BJP or the Congress. Similar is the case with Narnaund MLA Ramkumar Gautam, but Babli and Gautam are inclined towards the BJP. Guhla Chica MLA Ishwar Singh and Shahbad MLA Ramkaran Kala have shown their love for the Congress. Narwana MLA Ramniwas Surjakheda and Barwala MLA Jogi Ram Sihag have an open affinity towards the BJP.
