Indi alliance falters as NC goes solo on three seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Indi alliance had to face defeat in Jammu and Kashmir also. Actually, National Conference will contest alone on three seats in the state. In such a situation, problems may increase for the Indie alliance. However, talks are going on with Congress. The agreement can be made only on two seats of Jammu division and the only parliamentary seat of Union Territory of Ladakh.

State Bureau, Srinagar. The National Conference (NC) on Tuesday has deflated INDIA's balloon in Jammu and Kashmir by announcing that it will contest alone on three of the five parliamentary seats in the state.

Talks are ongoing with Congress NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said that we are contesting alone on

Srinagar-Pulwama

Ganderbal,Baramulla-Kupwara and Anantnag-Rajouri seats. The agreement can be made only on two seats of Jammu division and the only parliamentary seat of Union Territory of Ladakh and talks are going on with Congress for the same.

Party will contest elections on these seats

On this announcement of NC, PDP has talked about maintaining unity to stop BJP, but her colleagues have also increased the pressure on party chief Mehbooba Mufti to contest the elections alone. There are five parliamentary constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir. Of these, two - Srinagar-Pulwama-Ganderbal and Baramulla-Kupwara are in Kashmir division, while Jammu-Reasi and Udhampur-Doda-Kathua are in Jammu division.

Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency is spread on both sides of the Pir Panjal mountain range in both the divisions. NC was adamant to contest elections on three seats from the very first day. On Tuesday, a meeting of the party's parliamentary board was held under the leadership of NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah.

NC Vice President Omar Abdullah was also present in it. In the nearly three-hour meeting, NC decided to contest alone on three seats and almost finalized its candidates. It was decided in the meeting that if an agreement has to be made with other constituents of INDIA, PDP and Congress, then it can be done only for two seats in Jammu division and one seat in Ladakh. Efforts should also be made to ensure that NC gets one seat.
