Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has been hospitalised due to an abdominal infection, and doctors have advised rest and close medical supervision.
Farooq Abdullah, who currently serves as the president of the National Conference (NC), was admitted to the hospital after experiencing abdominal discomfort earlier this week. The medical team attending to him confirmed that the infection was being treated effectively and that his condition is stable.
A senior NC leader stated that Abdullah is under observation and receiving the best possible care. “He is recovering well, and doctors have suggested a few days of rest before he resumes his routine activities,” the source added.
The 87-year-old leader has been an influential figure in Jammu and Kashmir politics for decades, having served multiple terms as Chief Minister. Despite health challenges in recent years, he has remained vocal on key political and social issues.
The news of his hospitalisation has prompted a wave of concern and well-wishes from political colleagues and citizens alike. Leaders across party lines have expressed hope for his swift recovery, acknowledging his contributions to the region’s governance and political dialogue.
Hospital authorities have advised that Abdullah will remain admitted until doctors are fully satisfied with his recovery progress. His family has requested privacy during this period and thanked everyone for their prayers and
support.
