Dhruv Rathee: The court has issued a summons to the YouTuber. What is the current situation?

In a defamation lawsuit brought by leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Suresh Nakhua, a Delhi court has summoned well-known YouTuber Dhruv Rathee. Rathee called him a "violent and abusive" troll in a video that was posted on his YouTube channel, according to BJP Mumbai unit spokesperson Suresh Nakhua's claims in the plea.

Saket Court District Judge Gunjan Gupta gave the order to summon YouTuber Dhruv Rathee on July 19, 2024, following his hearing of the case. Dhruv Rathee was also given notice by the Saket court on Nakhua's request for temporary relief. The case's next hearing date is currently August 6.

"Rathi's assertions lack merit"

Dhruv Rathee has been accused by BJP leader Suresh Nakhua of making "bold and baseless claims" in a video. Even though these accusations are baseless, they will damage his reputation.

Rathi has attempted to damage his well-deserved reputation in society by doing this. It has sowed the seeds of mistrust and suspicion among the populace, which might have severe repercussions. Such unfounded accusations have numerous effects that extend well beyond the content of the film and have an impact on both the personal and professional domains.

In actuality, on July 7, 2024, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee posted a video on his channel. He referred to the BJP leader as a "violent and abusive" troll in the video. In a case filed in Delhi's Saket Court, BJP politician Suresh Nakhua claimed that the film was detrimental to his reputation. Dhruv Rathi has now received a notice from the Delhi court about this matter.
