Nepal Election Results 2026 Live The counting for the Nepal elections is underway and the National Independent Party is moving towards a bumper victory. With the rise in 112 seats, Balen Shah's party has crossed the majority mark. In Jhapa constituency number 5, Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSF) candidate Balendra Shah is leading in the counting of votes. Gen-Z's favorite Balendra Shah has left former Prime Minister Oli far behind. The National Swatantra Party is leading in almost all the provinces of Kosi, Madesh, Bagmati and Lumbini.

 

Nepal's elections to the House of Representatives were held on Thursday. After this, the counting started late at night. The Election Commission has claimed to have released the results of 165 seats (FPTP) directly within 24 hours of the counting of votes.

 

He also said that it takes at least a day to collect the ballot boxes from the hilly areas and bring them to the counting centres, so the rest of the results will be declared later. According to leading media house 'The Kathmandu Post', acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari expressed hope that the voting percentage is likely to be more than 65 percent this time. Voting for the House of Representatives in Nepal began at 7 am on Thursday at 23,000 centers in 77 districts, which continued till 5 pm. This is the first general election since the Gen-G uprising in September last year.

According to the Election Commission, there are 18,903,689 registered voters in this election. Most of the candidates are above 41 years of age, while 1,925 candidates are in the age group of 41 to 60 years and 425 are senior citizens. Out of the total seats, 165 MPs will be elected under the 'First-Past-the-Post' (FPTP) system, while the remaining 110 seats will be filled through the proportional representation system. After this, the then Prime Minister KP Oli resigned.
