Nepal's rapper-turned-politician Balendra Shah, who was the main face of the Gen-G movement in September last year, is set to become the next prime minister.
His party, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, has won a landslide victory in the parliamentary elections. The party has won 122 of the 165 directly elected seats in the House of Representatives and is leading in three seats.
This is the largest electoral majority since the establishment of democracy in Nepal. The Election Commission has so far declared the results of 159 out of 165 seats.
The final election results are likely to be out in the coming days, including seats elected by proportional representation. 35-year-old Balendra Shah defeated four-time Nepal's Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli by nearly 50,000 votes.
