Ravi Gaikwad's Road Safety 2024 Initiative organized by DM Foundation and in association with Brahma Kumaris

Road Safety Awareness 2024 Initiative was organized to fulfill Ravi Gaikwad's campaign Shant Bharat Surakshit Bharat. Govinda, Gulshan Grover Mohammad Azharuddin, Harbhajan Singh, Remo D'Souza. Singers and other notable celebrities took part in the event.

On 3 February 2024, Mumbai: The Road Safety 2024 awareness campaign by Ravi Gaikwad and organized by DM Foundation and in association with Brahma Kumaris held at Maxus Mall Ground, Bhayandar West, Mumbai.

 

Road Safety Awareness Campaign 2024 Initiative was organized to fulfill Ravi Gaikwad's campaign Shant Bharat Surakshit Bharat. Road Safety 2024 event, brought together celebrities, influencers, and the community to champion the cause of road safety. In two days event there are notable film actors Govinda and Gulshan Grover, Former cricket players  Mohammad Azharuddin and Harbhajan Singh, the famous Choreographer Remo D'Souza and Singers Shabab Sabri, Altamash Faridi and Vaishali Samant were present in the event.


Leading the road safety initiative, RTO Thane chief Ravi Gaikwad spoke to the audience, bringing attention to the startling figures of lives lost as a result of carelessness. Gaikwad, who saw the youth as India's future, made a strong case for them to heed safety instructions.


Famous singer Shabab Sabri performed, enchanting the audience with his melodic magic, and Vaishali Samant's heartfelt songs came next. When seasoned actor Gulshan Grover gave an energizing speech encouraging everyone to prioritize road safety, the evening took a poignant turn.


The evening's high point was the appearance of the ever-enchanting Govinda, who talked about her own experiences driving without a seat belt. In order to protect lives on the road, the Bollywood star underlined the significance of wearing helmets and adhering to safety regulations.


Former cricket player and MP Harbhajan Singh raised awareness of road safety issues by highlighting the importance of driving responsibly. Legendary cricketer Mohd Azharuddin joined him, sharing frightening tales from his native Hyderabad that demonstrated the repercussions of driving carelessly.


Remo D'Souza, a filmmaker and choreographer, made an appeal to the younger generation, asking them to drive responsibly and wear helmets out of respect for both their own lives and the lives of other people on the road.

 

Ravi Gaikwad said: "The passion for road safety is a joy to behold and today this joy is being united with the burning issue of our country. That is the safety of humans on roads. I thank you all for joining us here today to help support this vital cause. While we enjoy the spectacular show, the world's finest are going to put up. It is important that we remember how every morning we still wake up to news about the count of people who are victims of road accidents."


He also added: "The number of fatal injuries is significantly higher. India ranks first in the number of road accidents deaths. The accidental deaths across 200 countries as reported by World Road Statistics, accounting for about 11% of deaths due to road accidents in the world. The lives of our young people end on the roads due to irresponsible habits such as driving without a helmet, speeding, drinking alcohol, texting or driving fatigue. According to a recent report, it is two -wheeled vehicles and trucks that cause around 40% of deaths in our country."


Around one and a half people are killed and more than four and a half people are critically injured in our country in road accidents in every year. One person dies every four minutes in our country and out of every hundred people dying in the world, thirty are Indians. 

 

As per World Research Institute by 2020, the debt toll in road accidents every year will reach up to 2 .2 million and 50% will be Indians. The aim of this function is to drive social change in the country in terms of our outlook towards road safety.

 

Road accidents are one of the main causes of loss of precious human lives. Whenever someone dies in a road accident, it is a family which suffers the most. Though a lot of people are affected by such loss, friends, colleagues, well wishers, etc.
