The Mahayuti has won the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. In Mumbai, the BJP won 89 seats, while the Shiv Sena won 29 seats. The Thackeray brothers won 71 seats, while the Congress won 24 seats.
The number of others and independents is 12. Therefore, the Hindu Marathi Mayor of the Mahayuti will now sit in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. In this election, Uddhav and Raj Thackeray had formed an alliance.
However, this alliance has not had much impact on the result. Uddhav Thackeray's party has won 65 seats. Due to this, the power of Mumbai has slipped out of the hands of Thackeray. After this, Uddhav Thackeray has now commented on this decision in a press conference.
BJP can't destroy Shiv Sena on the ground: Uddhav Thackeray
Uddhav Thackeray thanked the voters at the press conference. Uddhav Thackeray said that the BJP may have finished the Shiv Sena on paper, but yesterday's results of the BMC and other state elections have shown that it cannot finish the Shiv Sena on the ground.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is on paper, but not on the ground. If he had been on the ground, he wouldn't have had to break the party. They wouldn't have had to use wiped ink. The system would not have had to be misused. The rules would not have had to be changed.
Uddhav Thackeray further said that even today, simple Shiv Sainiks who have been elected are simple. These Shiv Sainiks have shown how loyalty can fight and win against a waterfall of huge money. I would like to thank all Mumbaikars.
I was definitely expecting more from Mumbaikars. Whatever services we did for 25 years, whatever reforms we undertook, we had placed them before everyone. The Mumbai model was appreciated all over the world for what worked during the Covid period. After seeing all this, we thought that Mumbaikars would bless us more. Uddhav Thackeray has also said that even though he has not given a lot of blessings, he has given a lot of what he has given.
