Known as the voice of Assam and one of the most versatile musicians of India, Garg’s death has left the nation in mourning. Modi said that Zubeen Garg’s songs transcended boundaries and touched millions of hearts across languages and generations.

 

The Prime Minister noted that Zubeen Garg was not just a singer but also a cultural icon who showcased the richness of Assamese and Indian music to the world. His contribution in blending folk, classical, and modern music was extraordinary, making him a true legend in the music fraternity.
