ED raids AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj in connection with an alleged hospital construction scam, intensifying the political storm in Delhi.
According to reports, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches at multiple locations linked to the AAP leader as part of an ongoing money laundering probe tied to irregularities in hospital construction projects.
The alleged scam revolves around funds allocated for public healthcare infrastructure, where irregularities in construction contracts and financial mismanagement have been flagged. Officials stated that evidence of financial discrepancies and possible kickbacks is under examination.
Saurabh Bharadwaj, a senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi minister, has strongly denied the allegations, terming the raids as “politically motivated” and a tool to weaken AAP’s governance. He claimed that the central agencies are being misused to target opposition leaders ahead of upcoming elections.
The development has sparked a heated political row, with AAP accusing the central government of vendetta politics, while opposition parties have demanded strict action if corruption charges are proven.
The case adds to the list of recent ED actions against AAP leaders, further escalating tensions between the Delhi government and central investigative agencies. As the probe continues, the political implications of this case are expected to deepen.
