According to local media, a jet crashed Monday at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada, injuring several persons. Peel Regional Paramedic Services reports that 18 individuals, including a toddler, were hurt in the collision. According to reports, three of those are in critical condition.

The aircraft, reportedly a Boeing 737, was attempting to land in poor weather conditions when it skidded off the runway. Witnesses described a terrifying sequence of events as the plane lost control before overturning.

“It was absolute chaos. The plane started shaking violently, and suddenly we were upside down,” said one passenger. “We had to crawl out through broken windows because the exits were jammed.”

According to a statement from Delta Airlines, there were four staff members and 76 passengers on board when the accident occurred.

Emergency services arrived within minutes, helping passengers and crew members evacuate the overturned plane. Several individuals sustained minor injuries, with a few being taken to nearby hospitals for precautionary treatment.

Toronto Pearson officials have temporarily closed the affected runway as investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) and the airline work to determine the cause of the accident.

Delta Air Lines issued a statement expressing relief that all passengers and crew were safe, adding that they fully cooperate with authorities.
