The Skillhub Online Games Federation (SOGF) is a prominent industry body dedicated to promoting, regulating, and advancing the online gaming industry in India. As a not-for-profit organization, SOGF plays a pivotal role in shaping the online gaming landscape, fostering fair play, ethical practices, and responsible gaming. The SOGF is recognized as the  inaugural federation in India to comply with the National Sports Development Code 2011 and the regulations established by the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee of India.

SOGF aims to inspire and motivate young talent in India to recognize the career potential of online gaming, in line with the vision of Digital India and Youth Development set forth by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The federation was inaugurated by Anurag Thakur, the former Union Minister, and Dr. Sandip Chatterjee, the group coordinator and senior director of MeitY.

Its goal is to align the energy and potential of the youth towards a more promising future, in line with the vision of Skill India.

The Society of Online Gaming in India (SOGF) has established its executive structure in accordance with the IT Laws of the Government of India in 2023. The federation's objective is to establish a comprehensive certification system in India to align the games with local regulations and promote game development in the country, so enhancing the thriving 2.2 billion dollar sector in India.

SOGF is well-known for its innovative efforts in the online gaming industry, particularly the introduction of the Online Skill Games Olympiad, a unique competition designed to promote skill-based games like Rummy, Chess, Poker, and Ludo at a national level. The Olympiad consists of zonal and national tournaments specifically designed to foster and cultivate gaming talent throughout India.

SOGF guarantees that the games it oversees prioritize the promotion of stringent ethical standards to address and prevent gambling misconduct. The Federation is currently striving to create an Online Gaming Standards Charter, which will function as a certification for platforms that comply with the most stringent standards of security, fairness, and player protection.

SOGF proactively collaborates with government entities to tackle regulatory obstacles. In February 2024, at the National Economic Conclave hosted by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy (IFIE), Anurag Thakur, who was the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Information & Broadcasting at the time, recognized the promising prospects of the online skill gaming sector. He extended an invitation to the Society of Gaming and Sports Federation (SOGF) to engage in direct discussions with the Ministry of Sports, highlighting the significant role of the industry in India's economic advancement.
