Delhi High Court seeks response from WFI , Sports Ministry on Wrestlers plea

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) is an important part of Indian sports, especially wrestling. WFI represents Indian sports and resilience with its rich history, unwavering commitment and unremitting pursuit. WFI, the governing body of the tournament in India, manages all aspects of the development, promotion and management of the game.

 

The Federation brings together many wrestling academies, training institutes and state organisations to ensure unity and cooperation for the popularisation of the sport. In order to determine whether to permit WFI to proceed with the trials, which are scheduled to take place in Delhi's IG Stadium, the court requested the union sports ministry, WFI, and the hoc committee to respond to the plea. The case was postponed till March 7.

 

The claim was also filed by Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and her husband Satyawart Kadian, who argued that the WFI had deliberately published the February 26 announcement despite the football association banning it from hosting the competition and with the committee's full knowledge in February. 9th notification The report requires wrestlers to compete for the same competition on the same day. Senior advocate Rahul Mehra, representing the petitioners, argued that the Ministry of Sports (December 24) prohibited the WFI Board from removing its administrative duties and asked the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to have a special team
