Bayern Munich's Harry Kane Returns To England For Ankle Injury Treatment

Kane "tripped and fell into the net and sprained his ankle," Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel admitted afterwards. However, the club's sporting director Christoph Freund insisted Kane "will not take any chances" when it comes to his health.

Bayern Munich's Harry Kane Returns To England For Ankle Injury Treatment

Harry Kane will fly to England's training camp at St George's Park ahead of two friendlies against Brazil on March 23 and Belgium three days later at London's Wembley Stadium. England national team doctors will treat Harry Kane's ankle injury after "close consultation" with Bayern Munich's medical staff, the Bundesliga champions said on Sunday.

In Bayern's 5-2 win over Darmstadt on Saturday, Kane scored his 31st Bundesliga goal of the season, breaking Uwe Seeler's record for most goals in Germany's top division in a rookie season. But a blow to his left ankle in the 82nd minute saw England's captain and best striker leave.

Kane "tripped and fell into the net and sprained his ankle," Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel admitted afterwards. However, the club's sporting director Christoph Freund insisted Kane "will not take any chances" when it comes to his health.

Kane will fly to England's training camp at St George's Park ahead of two friendlies against Brazil on March 23 and Belgium three days later at London's Wembley Stadium. The striker has a long history of ankle problems; at Tottenham Hotspur, he missed five different games due to ankle problems. He missed three months of the 2019 season with two different injuries to the same ankle, including both legs in Tottenham's Champions League semi-final triumph against Ajax.
