Having had a career spanning well over three decades, he has won over millions with his suaveness, versatility, and boundless zeal for cinema.


Early Life and Family
Shah Rukh Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi, India, to Meer Taj Muhammad Khan and Lateef Fatima. His father was an Indian independence activist, and his mother was a magistrate and social worker. He was brought up in Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi, and attended St. Columba's School, where he was a good student and athlete.


After graduating in economics from Hansraj College, University of Delhi, he went on to do a master's in mass communication at Jamia Millia Islamia. But acting being his forte, he dropped out of studies in the middle and started a journey that would redefine Indian cinema.


Acting Career
1988–1992: Television and Film Debut

Khan started his career in television, and his performances in the TV shows "Fauji" (1989) and "Circus" (1989–1990) earned him recognition. His success on television paved the way to Bollywood, and he made his film debut with "Deewana" (1992), which was a box office success.


1993–1994: Negative Roles
Unlike many newcomers, Khan dared to take on antagonist roles early on. His performances in "Baazigar" (1993), "Darr" (1993), and "Anjaam" (1994) earned him critical acclaim for portraying obsessive lovers and anti-heroes.


1995–1998: Romantic Roles
The mid-90s witnessed Khan’s transition to a romantic hero, a genre where he would reign supreme. "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (1995) not only broke box office records but also became an eternal love story in Indian cinema. Other notable films include "Dil To Pagal Hai" (1997) and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (1998).


1999–2003: Career Fluctuations
Although there was some box office variance during this time, Khan kept his superstars status through performances to remember in films such as "Mohabbatein" (2000) and "Devdas" (2002).


2004–2009: Return
The mid-2000s witnessed Khan's glorious return with successes like "Main Hoon Na" (2004), "Veer-Zaara" (2004), and "Chak De! India" (2007), with his versatility being exhibited in a transition from action to drama.


2010–2014: Foray into Action and Comedy
Shah Rukh experimented with action and comedy genres in "My Name is Khan" (2010), "Ra.One" (2011), and "Chennai Express" (2013), establishing his versatility.


2015–2022: Career Slumps and Hiatus
Even though there were enormous expectations, films like "Fan" (2016) and "Zero" (2018) did not live up to expectations, leading Khan to take a break from films to reconsider his career choices.


2023–Present: Resurgence
2023 was a jaw-dropping return with two consecutive back-to-back blockbusters."Pathaan," and then "Jawan," broke box office records internationally, reinstating Khan's position of strength in Indian and worldwide cinema.


Other Work
Apart from performing on-screen, Shah Rukh is a budding entrepreneur. He is a partner at Red Chillies Entertainment, a prominent VFX and production company, as well as IPL cricket team owner Kolkata Knight Riders. He also hosted various shows like "Kaun Banega Crorepati" and "TED Talks India."

Personal Life
Shah Rukh married his childhood sweetheart Gauri Chhibber in 1991. They have three children: Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.The Khan household lives in the legendary "Mannat" house in Mumbai.
