Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy Deepens as Police Charge Comedian Samay Raina Over ‘India’s Got Latent’ Episode

According to reports, the Maharashtra Cyber Department filed a formal complaint on Tuesday against comedian Samay Raina, podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, and other artists for allegedly creating pornographic material and airing it on YouTube's "India's Got Latent program" after it caused widespread public outcry.

The police official claims that the Cyber Department has filed a case under the applicable provisions of the IT Act and requested that all 18 of the comedy show is episodes be deleted. The Cyber Department discovered throughout its investigation that "vulgar and profane" language was used by participants and other show participants, including guests.

Numerous complaints were made in Mumbai following Allahbadia's remarks, requesting action against him and other well-known social media personalities connected to the programme, such as Apoorva Mukhija and Samay Raina, for allegedly using "abusive language."

On February 17, the National Commission for Women summoned them and voiced their grave worry over the disparaging remark on "India's Got Latent." The disrespectful and obscene comments made by Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, along with the program is producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra, have been taken seriously by the commission.

On Tuesday, the Mumbai Police arrived at Ranveer Allahbadia's home, and YouTube removed the India's Got Latent episode that discussed the problem in Parliament. By calling his remark a "mistake in judgement" in a video apology, Allahbadia attempted to diffuse the situation, but the problem has persisted.

During Zero Hour, Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske brought up the issue in Parliament and demanded a law to control social media. According to him, a law regulating social media sites where influencers spew "all kinds of garbage" in the name of free speech must be passed.
