Zero Electricity Bill under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna

PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 February 2024 has the potential to bring revolutionary changes in the energy sector in India. The scheme aims to provide up to 300 units of free electricity to 1 crore households, and will take the country closer to the goal of energy security and self-reliance.

 

A middle class person can put solar panels on their rooftops as part of this initiative, and the panels will generate electricity for usage in residences. Selling excess electricity to the government is another way to make money.


PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme (PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna) is an important initiative in the energy sector of India. This scheme will play an important role in taking the country closer to the goal of energy security and self-reliance as well as providing free electricity to 1 crore households.

 

 

Key points of the scheme:

Eligibility: All domestic electricity consumers are eligible for this scheme.
Subsidy: The government will provide up to 40% subsidy for installing solar panels.
Electricity production: Solar panels installed in homes will produce electricity, which can be used in homes only.
Surplus Power: If the power produced by households exceeds the demand, the surplus power can be sold to power distribution companies.
Payment: Electricity distribution companies will pay a fixed rate per unit to consumers for excess electricity.

Implementation of the plan:

Registration: To apply for the scheme, consumers need to register on the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme website.
Survey: After registration, a survey will be conducted to find out whether the house is suitable for installing solar panels or not.
Subsidy: If the home is suitable for installing solar panels, the government will provide subsidy.
Solar Panel Installation: Solar panels will be installed by a qualified installer.
Generation of electricity: Solar panels will start producing electricity.
Use of electricity: Electricity produced in homes can be used in homes only.
Surplus Power: Surplus power can be sold to power distribution companies.
