Latur, the 16th largest city in Maharashtra, is situated on the Balaghat plateau, featuring elevations ranging from 540 to 638 meters above sea level. The election for this constituency was successfully held on May 20th, with a voter turnout of 47.08 percent.

 

Historically, the Latur seat has been a Congress stronghold, with Shivraj Patil serving as MP for seven consecutive terms from 1980 to 2004. However, the 2019 elections saw a shift, with BJP's Sudhakar Tukaram Shrungare winning the seat against Congress's Machhindra Kamant, reflecting changing political dynamics.
