Dr Jayanta Kumar Roy of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and MP of Jalpaiguri was declared the winner of the Jalpaiguri constituency of West Bengal by securing a total vote of 766568 by defeating All-India Trinamool Congress (AITC) candidate Nirmal Chandra Roy in West Bengal by 86693 votes.
