Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Kapil Sibal expressed concern over Arun Goel's resignation, saying it is definitely surprising. If you resign just before the election, which is just a few months away, then obviously there is something serious on the basis of which he must have resigned. Kapil Sibal further said that BJP will fill the commission with its own people

Meanwhile, Election Commissioner Arun Goyal has resigned from his post. He has given personal reasons behind his resignation. However, politics has caught on this matter. The Congress has targeted the BJP on this matter.

 

Kapil Sibal questions Arun Goel's resignation

Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Kapil Sibal expressed concern over Arun Goel's resignation, saying, "It is definitely surprising. If just before the election, which is just a few months away, you resign - then obviously there is something serious on the basis of which he must have resigned. I can't possibly pinpoint the reason but obviously there is some element of disagreement, especially when his term was not yet over. "

 

Congress leader raises questions on Election Commission's functioning

Kapil Sibal further alleged BJP's interference in the Election Commission and said, "They (BJP) will fill the commission with their own people as they have done in the past." The election schedule will be tailored to the interest of the ruling party. We have seen earlier also when BJP people do not take action on speeches that violate the Model Code of Conduct.
