According to the 2011 census data, the population of Bhopal was 23.71 lakh and there are 855 people living per square kilometre. Literacy rate is 80.37 per cent. The male literacy rate is 85.42 per cent and the female literacy rate is 74.87 per cent.
Lok Sabha elections 2019: BJP's Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur won the Lok Sabha elections 2019 with 8,66,482 votes. Congress' Digvijaya Singh came second with 5,01,660 votes and BSP's Madho Singh Ahirwar came third with 1,277 votes.
