Situated in the fertile valley of the Ganges and Son, it serves as a major commercial and grain distribution center. The constituency has a significant population of Muslim and Yadav voters.
In the 2019 elections, BJP candidate RK Singh won the Arrah seat by a margin of 147,285 votes, securing a total of 566,480 votes, while CPI (ML) candidate Raju Yadav received 419,195 votes.
