INS Trishul and INS Sumedha anti-piracy operations East of Somalia

Indian Navy ships INS Trishul (F43) and INS Sumedha during anti-piracy operations East of Somalia had resulted in successful rescue of FV Al Kambar and its crew of 23 Pakistani nationals.

On March 29, 2024, the Indian Navy ships INS Trishul (F43) and INS Sumedha were engaged in anti-piracy operations to the east of Somalia. As a result of their strong activities, the FV Al Kambar and her crew of 23 Pakistani nationals were successfully rescued. In order to continue their journey to India, all nine pirates who were involved in the act of piracy were captured.


 

Indian Navy handed over the pirates to local police.

 

INS Trishul arrived at Mumbai on 03 Apr 24 and handed over all nine pirates to the local police for further legal action in accordance with the Indian laws, specifically the Maritime Anti-Piracy Act 2022. 

 

Indian Navy reaffirms its resolve to safeguard all merchant shipping and seafarers transiting in IOR irrespective of their nationality.
