Nuuk, India's fast-emerging new-age direct-to-consumer (D2C) home appliance brand, has entered into a multi-year strategic manufacturing partnership with Zetwerk to develop a strong and scalable manufacturing base in the country. The partnership is part of Nuuk's long-term plan to develop high-quality and cost-competitive production capacity in India. Under this, the company will focus on localization and long-term production capacity building in a phased manner. Under this initiative, Sanjeev Rangras, the non-executive independent director of Zetwerk, has been appointed as the Make-in-India advisor of Nuuk.
Focus on strengthening manufacturing ecosystem in India
The partnership with Zetwerk is part of Nuuk's broader strategy to build a robust production infrastructure in India with manufacturing partners. The company aims to create a manufacturing ecosystem at par with global standards that is future-ready and enables mass production.
'Make in India' is not just a slogan for us.
Commenting on the partnership, Nuuk co-founders Ghazal Kalra and Shalabh Gupta said that the company is working on creating a new brand based on design and technology in the consumer devices space. "We are developing Nuuk into a new-age brand where design and performance combine to create products that enhance people's everyday lives. To do this on a larger scale, we need manufacturing capacity in India that matches our goal of quality, speed and innovation," he said.
