New Delhi: In a significant development, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday that the Court of Appeal in Qatar has reduced the sentences for the 8formal Indian navy personnel implicated in the Dahra Global case. The legal team and family members of the accused are currently coordinating with Indian authorities to determine the subsequent course of action. The Dahra Global case, entangled in allegations of fraud, forgery, and money laundering against several Indian nationals employed by a Qatari company, has garnered international attention throughout its prolonged legal proceedings.

 

The MEA disclosed that the comprehensive judgment from the Court of Appeal is eagerly awaited. "Our Ambassador to Qatar and other officials were present at the Court of Appeal today, accompanied by family members. We have been steadfast in our support since the inception of the case, offering continuous consular and legal assistance. Our commitment to pursuing the matter with Qatari authorities remains unwavering," stated the MEA in an official release.

 

Considering the confidential and sensitive nature of the case, the MEA emphasized its reluctance to provide further comments at this juncture.
