JNUSU Elections 2024: ABVP releases list of probable candidates, campaigning begins

The heat is on for the JNU Students' Union Elections 2024. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has released a list of its probable candidates for the elections. However, the official announcement of the candidates is to be made on March 16, after which the nomination process will begin.

ABVP has announced the names of its probable candidates for the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary, besides 42 Councilor posts. According to sources, the same names are likely to be seen in the official list to be released on March 16.

It is worth noting that the campaigning will go on till March 20 after the nomination for JNU Students' Union elections. A debate will be organized on the evening of March 20 between the presidential candidates. The final date of the election has not been announced yet, but it is expected that the election process will be completed by the end of March and a new student union will be formed.

With the release of the list of probable candidates by ABVP, the informal campaigning has also started. In various hostels, it can now be seen that ABVP workers are busy mobilizing support for their candidates.

The ABVP is hoping to make a strong comeback in the JNU Students' Union elections this year. The party has been out of power in the union for the past two years. The Left-leaning All India Students' Association (AISA) has been in control of the union for the past two years.

The ABVP is likely to face a tough challenge from the AISA and other Left-wing student organizations. The AISA is also expected to release its list of probable candidates soon.

The JNU Students' Union elections are one of the most prestigious student union elections in India. The elections are closely watched by political parties and the media. The results of the elections are often seen as a barometer of the political mood among the youth.
