Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister (or President) of Spain appreciates Dr Abhishek Shukla for his work to elders. He has also received appreciation letter from Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel. Dr Shukla also felicitated with National award from President of India.

Lucknow, (27 March 2024): Dr Abhishek Shukla, a geriatric and palliative care doctor based in Lucknow received appreciation letter from Prime Minister (or President) of Spain, Pedro Sánchez. He received this honor due to his excellent work for senior citizens in the society.

Let us tell you, On 27 December 2023, Dr Abhishek shukla on behalf of his organization 'Aastha Hospice & Geriatric Care Centre' invited Mr. President of Spain, Pedro Sánchez to visit his organization 'Aastha'.


In response, the President expressed gratitude to the elderly members of society for Dr. Shukla's efforts. And convey his appreciation for the gracious invitation to the Astha Center. He vowed to visit "Aastha Centre" in the future, but his hectic schedule prevented him from doing so at this time.

 

Mr. President wrote, "The President, along with the entire Spanish Government, highly values the well being of senior citizens and is committed to ensuring their autonomy and independence for as long as possible. Moreover, the government has undertaken and extensive political and legislative agenda at the national, European, and international levels to strengthen and consolidate the welfare state, ensuring the necessary care for senior citizens when then can no longer live independently.


Recently Dr. Abhishek Shukla also received appreciation letter from Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel.

 

The Chief Minister praised for Dr. Shukla's guidence to "Uttar Pradesh Varishtha Nagrik Rajya Parishad". He wrote for Dr Shukla's appreciation, "I am much pleased to learn that under your guidence Uttar Pradesh Varishtha Nagrik Rajya Parishad deserves collective attention and support for the welfare of our elders."


"Congratulations, According to me a person who enjoys retires life after long active role in any family is not 'Tired' but is 'Retrieved'. The aim to serve such elderly person who is full of practical experience of life is to support them for their peace of mind in at the final stage of life. It is need of hour to nurture them by not only satisfying their needs but by being their support essentials for rest of their lives." Who is Dr Abhishek Shukla?

Dr Abhishek Shukla is an Indian geriatric and palliative care doctor who is also the Founder and Secretary of Aastha Centre for Geriatric Medicine, Palliative Care Hospital & Hospice, Lucknow, India. This is a palliative care charitable non-governmental organisation also known as 'Aastha'. Dr. Shukla is the secretary general of Association of International Doctors. 

 

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is the city where Abhishek Shukla was born. Beginning his early education at Wynberg Allen School in Mussoorie, he went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine (Physician) degree with Gold Medals in nine subjects in the year 2000. He completed a rotatory internship at King George's Medical University in Lucknow in 2001. Dr. Shukla finished his training in critical care medicine at SGPGI in Lucknow in 2003. He earned a postgraduate diploma in disability management from Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 2007. He received a postgraduate diploma in geriatric care In 2008. Dr Shukla earned certification in palliative medicine from Cardiff University Wales in 2013. Finally, in 2017, he received a postgraduate diploma in clinical endocrinology and diabetes from the United Kingdom.

 

As a member of the American Association of Family Physicians (USA) and a distinguished Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2022, Shukla holds the title of Doctor of Medicine (Gold Medalist), Diploma in Disability Management and Geriatric Care, and Diploma in Geriatric Care.

 

A scholarship from the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) was granted to Shukla in the year 2010, allowing him to pursue a degree in palliative medicine at Cardiff University, which is located in the United Kingdom. In all likelihood, Dr. Shukla will be one of the first few people to get this award.

 

Dr. Abhishek Shukla was honored with a number of accolades, including a national award from the President of India and a letter of gratitude from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his excellent work for elders.
