In Sambhal's village Bichhauli, the administration took a major action on Thursday and demolished the Imambara and Idgah built on government land with bulldozers. Tight security arrangements were made in the entire area during the operation. In view of the tension, a heavy police force along with RRF was deployed at the spot.
The eviction order was issued by the Tehsildar court in January regarding the land of the manure pit located in village Bichhauli. The administration had already started preparations for compliance with the order and a special team of Lekhpals was constituted.
At around nine in the morning, the administrative team reached the spot with four bulldozers. The action to remove the illegal construction was initiated in the presence of SDM Nidhi Patel. Bulldozers started demolishing the structures of Imambara and Eidgah continuously.
Due to this, a large number of people gathered on the spot. District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Vishnoi also rushed to the spot during the operation. Both of them gave necessary directions to the subordinates.
The entire area was converted into a police cantonment to deal with any untoward situation. Officials said that this action is being taken on the order of the court. Government land has been freed from occupation.
