Video From JNU Goes Viral as Students Raise Slogans During Protest Rally

JNU Students’ Union clarifies protest context amid viral video controversy

JNU Video Sparks Political Row Over Slogans Against PM Modi and Amit Shah

A video of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi has surfaced on Tuesday, in which some students are seen raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. In the 35-second video, the students can be heard saying... "Modi-Shah's grave will be dug on JNU land..."

It is being claimed that these students were protesting against the denial of bail to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. These people also took out a rally in support of Khalid. The video has gone viral on social media.

However, JNU Students' Union president Aditi Mishra said that every year students hold demonstrations to condemn the violence that took place on the campus on January 5, 2020.

Mishra told news agency PTI that all the slogans made in the protests were ideological and were not personal attacks on anyone. They were not addressed to anyone.

A senior Delhi Police official has also said that no complaint has been received so far in connection with the announcements.
