UK's Baby-Killer Lucy Letby Convicted Of Attempted Murder At Retrial

Lucy Letby, a former nurse previously sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering seven babies, has been found guilty of attempting to murder another infant. This retrial focused on a single charge - the attempted murder of a premature baby girl ("Child K") in 2016. Prosecutors allege Letby tampered with the baby's breathing tube, putting her life at risk. Letby maintains her innocence on all charges.

Lucy Letby Found Guilty of Attempted Murder in Retrial

Former nurse Lucy Letby has been convicted of attempting to murder another newborn baby, adding to her previous convictions that labeled her Britain's most prolific child killer.

Letby, 34, was already serving a life sentence for murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six others at the Countess of Chester Hospital's neonatal unit between June 2015 and June 2016. This retrial focused on a single charge where the original jury couldn't reach a verdict - the attempted murder of a baby girl referred to in court as "Child K."

The prosecution argued that Letby tampered with Child K's breathing tube shortly after her birth in February 2016, putting the extremely premature infant (born at 25 weeks) in danger. Letby denied the charge and maintained her innocence on all counts.

Following a three-week retrial and three and a half hours of deliberation, the jury found Letby guilty. This verdict adds to the horrific crimes she already stands convicted of.
