Gadkari signals a major shift in India’s auto future away from fossil fuels.

Minister Urges Auto Industry to Move Towards Biofuels and Cleaner Energy

Nitin Gadkari on Petrol Diesel Vehicles: No Future Ahead

From the roar of the engine to the smell of petrol and diesel, everything is slowly moving towards making history. And we are not saying this, but Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari himself has made it clear that there is no future of petrol and diesel vehicles in the coming time. That is, the game is about to change completely. The era of petrol and diesel vehicles in the country is now slowly coming to an end.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, while speaking at the Busworld Conclave 2026 held in New Delhi, said, "There is no future for vehicles running on these traditional fuels (petrol and diesel) in the coming time."

Nitin Gadkari appealed to the automobile manufacturers to shift to biofuels and other alternative fuels as soon as possible. He says that petrol and diesel are not only expensive but they are also becoming a serious problem for the country. Gadkari said that India imports a huge amount of fossil fuel every year, which puts a burden on the country's economy. Along with this, pollution is also increasing rapidly. He described it as a big challenge for both the economy and the environment.
