Neeraj Chopra secured his spot in the Diamond League final, which is scheduled for September 13 and 14 in Brussels. Neeraj finished the Zurich Diamond League in fourth position with 14 points. Anderson Peters of Grenada claimed first place with 29 points, followed by Julian Webber of Germany in second place with 21 points. With 16 points, Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch came in third.

Andrian Mardare of Moldova (13 points) and Roderick Genki Dean of Japan (12 points) are the other two players in the top six who will guarantee their spots in Brussels. Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, who won gold in the 92.97-meter throw at the Olympics in Paris, fell only five points short of finishing in the top six. This season, Neeraj has only participated in two Diamond League events. He came in second behind Jakub, who was barely 0.02 meters ahead of the Indian competitor, in the May throw in Doha earlier this year.

But Neeraj is still searching for the throw of ninety meters. The youthful player, who can throw 89 meters, has missed the historic mark several times. Neeraj recently took home silver from the Olympics in Paris and followed it up with a podium result in the quadrennial tournament in Tokyo 2020, where he earned gold. Neeraj easily surpassed the qualification criteria of 84 meters with a devastating throw of 89.34 during the qualifying round in Paris. Neeraj appeared uneasy in the final, but he placed second with an effort of 89.45 meters on his second try. Regarding participation in the Diamond Leagues, Neeraj won the championship in Zurich in 2022. He then won the second place in Eugene in 2023. From now on, Neeraj's performance in Brussels will be the main emphasis.
