
India A team for the red-ball tour of England has been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), with a mix of experienced and newer players.Bengal's Abhimanyu Easwaran is the captain of the team, and wicket-batter Dhruv Jurel is the vice-captain.
The tour includes two four-day Tests against the England Lions on May 30 at Canterbury and June 6 at Northampton. An intra-squad fixture against the Indian seniors is also scheduled for June 13 at Beckenham.
Some of the prominent inclusions are batter Karun Nair, who had a strong domestic campaign with Vidarbha, with 863 runs in the Ranji Trophy and 779 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Shardul Thakur have also been included in the team.
The complete India A team includes: Abhimanyu Easwaran (Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Dhruv Jurel (Vice-Captain & WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan (WK), Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian, Mukesh Kumar, Akash. Tushar Deshpande, and Harsh Dubey.
Batters Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan will also join the team before the second match. The tour is an opportunity for players to present their capabilities in English conditions and earn places in the senior Indian team, particularly following recent retirements of major players.
