Bengal has long been known for producing exceptional sports personalities who have left an indelible mark on the younger generation, serving as role models for aspiring athletes. From cricket legend Saurav Ganguly to football icon Bhaichung Bhutia, their charismatic and influential personalities have captivated our attention. However, who would have imagined that a personality would emerge to inspire thousands of budding sportspeople in the art of "KARATE"? Enter Hanshi Premjit Sen, the man who has achieved just that.

 

 

 

Hanshi Premjit Sen is not only an inspirational figure in Bengal's sports scene but also a successful administrator. He holds the esteemed position of President at the Karate Do Association of Bengal, an organization with hundreds of thousands of Karate practitioners across West Bengal. Additionally, he serves as the Joint Secretary of the Karate India Organisation, the sole authentic Karate governing body in India, overseeing the sport nationally.

 

Recognized as the "Times Men of the Year 2022" in the field of Martial Arts, Hanshi Premjit Sen has received numerous accolades for his outstanding contributions. He was recently honored as the "Bengal Icon 2023" by The Times Group, one of the country's leading media networks, for his exceptional achievements in the realm of Martial Arts.

 

Hanshi Premjit Sen holds the distinction of being the first Bengali to qualify as a Grade "A" Judge & Referee for both Kata and Kumite by the World Karate Federation (WKF), an official member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). He also holds the same esteemed position at the Asian Karate Federation (AKF), which is affiliated with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

 

With his vast knowledge and experience in Karate Do, Hanshi Premjit Sen has participated in prestigious events such as the World Karate Federation Premier League 2023 in Fukuoka (Japan), World Karate Federation Series A 2023 in Konya (Turkey), WKF Youth League 2023 in Fujairah (UAE), and the World Karate Federation Premier League 2023 in Cairo (Egypt). He has truly experienced it all.

 

Whether it's the renowned National Games, Khelo India University Games, Asian Games World Karate Championships, South Asian Karate Do Championships, or the Commonwealth Karate Do Championships, Hanshi Premjit Sen has been present at every significant competition. His remarkable journey has inspired countless karatekas, not just in Bengal but throughout India, emphasizing the importance of dreaming big.

 

This achievement by Hanshi Premjit Sen has set a new benchmark for other sports that have often been overlooked. It will forever remain etched in the hearts of all the karatekas whom he represented on such prestigious stages.
