Badminton Star PV Sindhu to Marry Hyderabad-Based Tech Executive on December 22

India’s badminton superstar and Olympic medalist PV Sindhu is set to embark on a new journey as she prepares to marry a Hyderabad-based tech executive, Venkata Datta Sai, on December 22. "The two families were familiar with one another but everything was just settled a month ago. Given that she would have a busy schedule starting in January, this was the only window that might work," Sindhu's father, PV Ramana, stated.

Thus, the two families chose to hold the marriage ceremony on December 22 for that purpose. On December 24, the reception will be place in Hyderabad. The upcoming season will be crucial, therefore she will begin training shortly after," he continued. On December 20, the two-time Olympic medallist's wedding-related preparations will get started.

Sindhu, 29, is a global icon in badminton, having made history as the first Indian woman to win a silver medal at the Olympics in 2016 and a bronze in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Her career is marked by numerous accolades, including a gold medal at the 2019 BWF World Championships, making her one of India’s most celebrated athletes.

The 29-year-old former world champion's victory at the Syed Modi International badminton event put an end to a prolonged title drought. After winning in 2017 and 2022, Sindhu won the women's singles title for the third time in the competition after defeating Wu Luo Yu, ranked 119th in the world, 21-14, 21-16 in the final.  Sindhu believed it could be the start of yet another prosperous chapter in her professional life. "This victory will undoubtedly boost my confidence." I have a lot of experience, so being 29 is a big plus in many ways. Being knowledgeable and seasoned is essential, and I intend to continue playing for the foreseeable future," Sindhu declared.

"I will be participating in the forthcoming competitions in Thailand, Indonesia, India, and Malaysia. We will need to pick and choose events, of course, as I will need to be able to make informed decisions about what to play and what not to. In that regard, I need to be much more intelligent," she continued.

Sindhu has often spoken about her drive to keep representing India on the global stage, and her marriage is expected to bring a new dimension of support and balance to her life.

As fans await more details about the big day, the announcement has added a festive cheer to the year-end, with Sindhu’s admirers across the globe celebrating her happiness.
