New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant day on February 20 by inaugurating a slew of educational projects valued at ₹13,375 crore across the country. The projects encompassed the establishment of three new IIMs, permanent campuses for IITs, construction of 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), and 13 new buildings for Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs). Notable inclusions were permanent campuses for IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IIT Jammu, IIITDM Kancheepuram, Indian Institute of Skills (IIS), and campuses for Central Sanskrit University at Devprayag (Uttarakhand) and Agartala (Tripura).

 

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated three new IIMs, namely IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, and IIM Visakhapatnam, alongside 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and 13 for Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs) across the nation. Additionally, he inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu. Established at a cost exceeding ₹1,660 crore and spanning an area of 227 acres, this AIIMS is equipped with 720 beds, a medical college with 125 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, an AYUSH block with 30 beds, residential accommodation for faculty and staff, hostel accommodation for UG and PG students, and a shopping complex, among other facilities. The institute is being developed under the central government scheme 'Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

 

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi is to inauguare six new AIIMS, including those in Samba (Jammu and Kashmir) and Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh), within the next six days. The AIIMS Jammu, whose foundation stone was laid by Modi in February 2019, has been established at a cost of more than ₹1,660 crore and spans 227 acres, featuring 720 beds, a medical college with 125 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, and an AYUSH block with 30 beds. These healthcare initiatives are part of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

 

In addition to the healthcare projects, Prime Minister Modi launched projects worth ₹30,500 crore in various sectors, including education, railway, aviation, and road. As part of the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu' program, he distributed appointment letters to approximately 1500 newly recruited government employees in Jammu and Kashmir and interacted with beneficiaries of various schemes. The comprehensive initiatives underscored the government's commitment to advancing education, healthcare, and overall infrastructure across the nation.
