Justice Yashwant Verma Resigns Amid Controversy

Allahabad High Court judge Justice Yashwant Verma has stepped down from his position.

Resignation Submitted to President Amid Ongoing Controversy

Justice Yashwant Verma, a sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court, has resigned from his post. He has sent his resignation letter to the President.

Justice Verma had been in the midst of controversies ever since he was allegedly found with a huge amount of cash at his residence in March 2025.

According to the news agency ANI, Justice Yashwant Verma was recently transferred from the Delhi High Court back to his original cadre Allahabad High Court.

The transfer was made following disputes and complaints related to suspicious cash found at his residence.

He was sworn in as a judge in the Allahabad High Court on April 5, 2025, but the ongoing investigation against him did not leave him behind.

When Justice Verma was a judge of the Delhi High Court, a fire broke out in his Delhi government residence late in the evening on March 14, 2025, and the fire brigade that arrived to extinguish the fire had found a large quantity of burnt notes in the storeroom of his house.

Justice Verma was not present at home at the time of the incident, he was in Madhya Pradesh. He was transferred to the Allahabad High Court. Here too, they were fiercely opposed. The result was that he was excluded from hearing the cases.
