Sushmita Sen receives honorary doctorate degree in Bareilly; 12th convocation ceremony held at Invertis University

The 12th convocation ceremony was held at Invertis University on Saturday. In a ceremony filled with academic fervor, not only did the meritorious students get the fruits of their hard work, but two Bollywood legends, including former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, were awarded honorary doctorates for their unprecedented and outstanding contribution in the field of art.

"Sushmita Sen was honored as the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title for bringing India's name to the global stage and setting an example of women's empowerment. Sanjay Mishra was given this honor for giving a new height to Indian cinema through his unique style of acting and lively characters. Commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu could not come till noon due to a flight delay.

Thousands of students get degrees

The convocation ceremony was held under the able guidance of the Chancellor of the University, Prof. Umesh Gautam, and Pro-Chancellor Partha Gautam. During the program, degrees were distributed to the successful students of Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. of the academic session 2024-25. The faces of the students lit up after receiving the degree with their beloved artists.
