Indian Cinema Gains Global Spotlight with Oscar Eligibility
Oscars

The influence of Indian cinema has now reached beyond the seven seas. Some very proud news has come out for the Indian film industry.

Two superhit films of the famous production house Hombale Films have made it to the 'General Entry' list of Oscars 2026. Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1' and 'Mahavatar Narasimha' have made India proud on the world stage.

This is considered to be a big leap not just for one production house, but for the entire Indian film industry.

In which category will it be considered?

After making it to the General Entry List, these films will now be considered for various important award categories.

The film will be shortlisted in the categories of Best Actor and Actress, Best Director (Rishab Shetty and Ashwin Kumar), Best Screenplay/Writing, Best Production Design, and Cinematography.

Hombale Films' big dominance: Notably, a total of 5 films from India have been included in the general entry list of the Oscars this year. Out of these, 2 films are from Hombale Films alone. This shows the growing global influence of this manufacturing house.

Global recognition of Indian culture: Hombale Films has always delivered world-class films that combine the stories, culture, and best of our technology from our soil. 'Kantara' has already given recognition to Indian folk culture all over the world, while 'Mahavatar Narasimha' has presented his mythology in a grand way.

This success has once again proved the creative power of Indian cinema.
